While some travellers can visit visa-free, others require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), or a visa.
Citizens of the following nationalities currently need an ETA to enter the United Kingdom:
Citizens from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries now only need an ETA to visit the UK for up to 6 months.
From 8 January 2025, citizens of an additional 49 countries will also need an ETA to visit the UK. These include Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. Find the full list of countries here.
